Recorded Ledgerstones
Islington, St Mary : Ledgerstone 1
Rectangular wall memorial now detached and lying against the East wall of Chancel. The pediment is decorated with two cherub heads with foliar decoration. The two top corners are cut away in a reverse curve. The double inscription panel is framed with a single rounded moulding and is divided by a central moulding of the same type. The apron is curved with square consoles left and right. The lettering is incised Roman caps and l/c. The long ʃ is used.
The condition is very worn and the right hand upper inscription which appears to be to the wife of Robert Wiseman, Senior is largely illegible.
