Condition good. 3 cracks – 2 horizontal and one vertical
The reredos is over the top edge of the stone

which might be translated:

Here lies buried in thanks to the one God John Bacon when Rector of Thurgarton who died A.D. 1509 [?alive] in spirit

He never was given to Worldly Pride.
He Liv’d an honest man and so he dy’d.
They was tender parents our Los was great
We hope they both eternal Joys will meet.
