Small stone is set within red and black tiles and 45’ to N/S/E/W/ lines. This odd ledgerstone may have been placed here when new tiles were fitted to the chancel floor later in the 19thc

“Thorng” should read Thorngrove a prominent Georgian house about 1 mile to the west of the church, formerly occupied by Lucian Bonaparte for a few years in exile.
