The male figure is shown in civil costume and standing with hands clasped. He wears a long robe or gown reaching to the feet, and buttoned at the throat. The sleeves are full with deep cuffs. A gypeiere or purse is attached to the band running around the waist whilst a large rosary is attached on the opposite side. Hanging on the shoulder is seen a peculiar cap, worn at this period, this was composed of a long piece of cloth or silk, wound round somewhat like a turban, and from this band or scarf hung almost to the ground, and this brass shows it hanging down in front, although it often wound around the neck or tucked into the girdle.
The female figure is shown wearing a cote-hardie, buttoned down to the waist. The sleeves are tight with gauntlet cuffs, whilst the dress is open at the throat and a girdle encircles the waist. The head-dress has pendant lappets falling over the back of the head.
