Rectangular
Aligned West to East
brass with 2 bolts in top one-third of stone
Embossed ecclesiastical gothic lettering.
Unfortunately there are many abbreviations and it is therefore difficult to interpret the words and therefor an accurate translation is not possible.
Brass in excellent condition. Stone poor. Cracked across the middle and chipped.

Aligned West to East
Lettering on top half of stone. Lettering beneath a shield
Incised roman capitals and lowercase with flourishes. Long ʃ is used. The lower case ‘w’ is cut as ‘iu’.

On a bend three leopards’ faces (Mingay, Or, on a bend, Azure, three leopards’ faces of the field.)
Condition very good.

A ledgerstone in Ely Cathedral close to the entrance to the Lady Chapel, records the death of John Mingay who died in 1676. The letter ‘w’ on that stone is also cut as ‘iu’ and suggests a possible relative of William Mingay.

Incised stylised roman capitals with flourishes. The
letters H and E are diphthongal except where there is a capital at the beginning of the word.
Condition very good. Damage on bottom and right side clear of inscription

Shield and lettering top three-quarters of stone. Below lettering is a skull and crossbones in a roundel.
Incised roman capitals
A chevron between three cocks a crescent for difference. (Crowe, Gules, a chevron, Or, between three cocks, Argent)
Condition poor. The shield is very poor with only the chevron visible. There is a crack across the inscription which is also very worn

Condition fair. The left hand side of the stone is covered with cement as are the edges.

Incised stylised sloped roman capitals and lowercase.
Condition poor. Much of the inscription is illegible and filled in with plaster. Stone is cracked below the inscription. Some chipping around the edges.
